About
La Posta
La Posta was opened in 2006 by Patrice Boyle, who was aiming to pair the warmth and variety of Italian dining with some of the best fruits and vegetables in the world from right here in Santa Cruz County. Italian cuisine is simple, and utterly dependent on the prima materia.
La Posta has 2 chefs who share duties: Rodrigo Serna and Tom McNary. Along with the rest of the staff, we are fortunate to have 79 years of excellent cooking accumulated in our kitchen.

For almost 115 years, neighbors and beachgoers have been gathering here. Opened as the Seabright Cash Store and Post Office in 1911, our building has remained in service as a resource for this small historic locality and the hub of neighborhood life; through endless summers at the beach, numerous doughnut shops, earthquakes, wars, and pandemics. There has always been a residence upstairs beginning as a rooming house for those working at the nearby cannery. The building has been owned by the same family since 1950.
It is our goal to provide a warm and convivial place with delicious food that is wholesome, supporting a creative partnership of our staff, our suppliers, and our customers.
We showcase the best of many excellent small farmers, devoted fishermen, and foragers who smell like the Santa Cruz chaparral. The abundant foods available here are truly world class and with every dish we strive to do justice to the cornucopia of food daily coming through our kitchen door.
