Daniele Dinoia of Villa Guelpa will join us at la Posta for a tasting of his wines from upper Piemonte. We rarely have wine makers so it will be special to have this knowledgeable man here to answer questions and meet our guests!

Villa Guelpa is a small winery located in the village of Lessona, Italy – Villa Guelpa makes about 6 different wines, about 3500 cases total production. Although a relatively new winery, Daniele Dinoia has been a well known winemaking consultant in alta Piemonte for decades. The wine are from the denominations: Lessona, Sizzano, and Bocca, all are aged in cement tanks and Slavonian oak barrels.

Wines from upper Piemonte are Nebbiolo-based with Vespolina and Uva Rara grape varieties typically a part of the blend. Wines from this area are differentiated from the southern nebbiolos in their elegant tannins, they are more subtle and more defined.
